Kids Rank Spotlight
2019 Kids Rank Summer Camp
The main goal for our Kids Rank Camp is for kids to make a connection with a new friend to help them feel a sense of belonging in place they are currently calling home.
Due to the success of our one week summer camp in 2018 we were able to expand, offering three weeklong sessions this year! From learning about organic farming, planting our own microgreens, "Chopped" competitions, field trips to Six Flags, Deep Water River Park, Independence Grove and more the kids had jammed packed schedules of fun!
A very special thank you to our awesome partners and sponsors for making this all possible:
Newly Launched "Building Communities" workshop series.
Talking with multiple community leaders on how we can work together to achieve stronger relationships to support our military children we decided the use of play would be a perfect way to bring people together!
The plan is to host physical build event days symbolic in the effort of "building" relationships to create a welcoming environment. One of Kids Rank's main focuses is on the social and emotional support of our military and veteran children. By creating a safe space of play in collaboration with our partners we are helping to provide a source of stability.
The workshops encourage parent and kids of all ages to play together.
We would like to thank The Carmax Foundation for the KaBoom Rigamajig building set, it is an awesome addition to our Building Community events!
